Had the good fortune to be asked back to the
Swiss Embassy in London. There was a huge wall that needed decorating.
Though various ideas of painting items were explored, it was decided that with the time constraints and installation problems, I would produce a moving image that would be projected along the wall. The Embassy were very keen for me to produce something at leisure, create a piece of work with no brief, other than 'filling a space with my work'.
I immediately began to work developing a digital composition technique, employing the ability to capture the screen as i worked freehand, unrehearsed. I created sketchworks whilst capturing, upto half hour at a time, then layered them transparently with a tint at speeds upto 3000 times the 'real' speed.
The results implied that the improvised work was also destroyed, or erased after completion - therefore eradicating any record (other than video) of its existence, further emulating the concept of perceptions and lifespans of social graffiti.
