Walsall Cinema
Alternative Image 1

Size: 30m x 3m

Media: aerosol & acrylic

Location: Walsall town centre

Collaboration: Lee Beckett

Aerial view of (now demolished) cinema building in hometown of Walsall. Now it is a large, modern Woolworths (!), and beyond the billboard to the left is the grounds for the New Walsall Art Gallery. If you look at the base of the building, you will notice a blue band white areas. Those white areas were attempts to 'fill' the wall prior to painting it during a bitterly cold winter of 1990 with another local artist named Lee... The white roof in the distance belong to the building that was to become Walsall's skatepark, where the 'Born in Walsall' mural was painted.

Another view of the cinema before demolition in 1994.
