For the last few months I have been developing a blog space that shows off my extensive library of imagery. The best thing about it, is that you can cross-reference items with tags (or keywords),...
Anyone who came to London, Euston Station, the morning of Tuesday 29th May at 9.15am witnessed the complete, decorated Virgin Pendolino (9 carriages) on its maiden voyage to Manchester Piccadily (dep. 10:05am). The design is a collaboration between myself and Jamie Hewlett (Gorillaz, Tank Girl) - a 'Chewlett'... The train passes through Birmingham New Street too.
The design made it into the online design site COOLHUNTING.COM
More information can be found at the MIF news page
Most of my work as the designer and print consultant for this ground-breaking work was to produce 9 carriages depicting a scene each from the forthcoming theatre production of 'Monkey: Journey to the West'. The show will launch at the Manchester International Festival, the same festival that saw the Gorillaz musicians come together for the live version of the Demon Days album.
Anyone who attended the last Festival would have noticed that prints were on sale in the foyer, one of those prints featured an image of Russels amplifier, decorated with my 'Your Mum Rang' stickers. Scrutineers of the Gorillaz first DVD 'Celebrity Take Down' may have also noticed the same sticker on Russels bedroom door. Needless to say - (ok, i'll say it) this new design features my artwork too!
